Gingerbread Houses

Just had to put a random picture of Dudley on...isn't he cute!!!!

After the Sunday School presentation we came home to make gingerbread houses, we could not put it off any longer for the kids were pretty excited to make them. Some how we were able to keep them from eating them until after supper, they were not happy about that part though.

Curtis was the parent-helper at Hope's Pre-School on Friday so he was able to see her in action and take a few pictures.

Character Day and Family Night

Some of our ornaments

Micah and I had Character Day at school on Thursday and let's just say we represented the Reimer name well. Micah went with Josh and Ethan as the 3 Blind Mice and they won for their Grade. I went as the Paper Bag Princess, and yes I wore a paper bag, and won for the Teachers. Too bad there are no pictures of me :) I had a blonde wig on and painted dirt all over my arms and legs.
For our family night we made tree ornaments and we had trouble getting Hope to stop for it involved paint, glitter, and beads.

Just like her Mom

Hope decided that she wanted to go for a run last night. She put on all of my gear, not sure why she insisted on wearing my bike helmet. I probably should wear my bike helmet when I run for I can be a wee bit clumsy :) It won't be long until we can run together!

Hope's First Dentist Visit

I do not know if we can actually say Hope saw the dentist today. She has been nervous about this appointment for awhile. We had lots of tears in the morning leading up to the visit and when it was time to leave for the appointment. She sat in the room while I (Sue) had my teeth cleaned with little tears streaming down her cheeks, it was really sad. When it was time for her to go on the chair she had a total break-down. The dentist was able to get her to open her mouth for 2 seconds and that was it. So, the dentist said to come back in 6 months and we will try again, YEAH :(

Micah is heading off this afternoon so they will notice a night and day difference between our kids. Hope did not even utter a word the whole hour we were there and chatter-box Micah will ask a million questions and not stop talking. It might take them the rest of the afternoon to clean his teeth for he won't stop talking :) Gotta love our kids!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNY!!

I thought I would wish you happy birthday on the blog, Dad/ Kenny/ Santa. As I was thinking about your birthday, it brought me back to when I was a teenager and would call and ask you for everything. If it was a cold winter night and the Buick would not start, I did not use the AMA card you gave me, but woke you up to come and give me a boost. If I needed gas in my car or for it to be washed, you always did that for me so I would not have to worry (but we both know I am terrible at washing vehicles!! and I almost filled our car with Diesel instead of gas, so maybe you did not trust me and that was why, hmmm) . I could count on you to help me or have the answer and now that we live almost 800km apart a lot of the time you are still my go-to guy. Who do I call when I have no idea how to cook a roast without my crock-pot? or my soup is too thick, or with my lack of gardening skills. I always pick up the phone and give you a call (maybe Micah does get his endless question asking from me...). Thanks for always being there, Dad and here is to another year of endless questions from your pesky daughter.
LOVE YOU LOTS!!

Trick or Treat

The kids getting ready to go to the mall
Micah as Snake Eyes!!
Shocking that Hope went as Princess Hope (that is what she made us call her).
Micah's handy work

Yes, that is our pumpkin. I (Sue) have a special bond with this pumpkin for I grew it myself. It was tiny but really easy to carve.
We did not go to the church this year for the Pumpkin Carnival. Micah was not 100% but Hope was begging to get dressed up and go get candy. So, we decided we would go to the mall right when they start to hand out candy for them to get a little bit and for Hope to dress up. Micah wore his Snake Eyes suit and it covered his face so we thought his germs were pretty contained. The nice thing about the mall is they did not get a whack load of candy, which is nice then I won't eat it all :)
Now we get to listen to Hope asked for candy non-stop until it is gone. She is tenacious that one!!

Welcome Home Old Friend

Mom and Dad C. are "lending" us my old car for the winter. It is weird to be driving my first car around again, brings back lots of memories of bombing around Edmonton. We used to call it the Red Bullet for I was known for driving it a little too fast but we all know that is impossible for I always followed the speed limit :)
Thanks Dad for taking such good care of it over the years!!

Funny Picture

We went to our first 3-D movie in Victoria and I took a picture of Hope and this is what she gave me.

Fort Rodd Hill

What a beautiful place Fort Rodd Hill is and the highlight so far for both Micah and Hope. Micah loved all of the bunkers and army artifacts while Hope was in awe of the ocean and all of the "she shells."

The Highlights of the Run

Well, I only ran the 8km due to my hip but it was tons of fun. I could not believe how many people were in just the 8km run. It was sold out with 2400 people running, what an experience for I do not think I will run with that many people again. Who can say they ran against Simon Whitefield (Olympic athlete)!
Some of my other highlights would be: feeling a wee bit claustrophobic at the starting line/ the dancing nuns in their poodle skirts - ya you read it right dancing nuns/ having a Storm Trooper cheer me on/ and coming in 554th place overall and 23 out of 146 in my age category.
Next will be the BMO 1/2 Marathon in May. Give my hip the winter to rest.

Ancient Forest

While we did our hike we had thunder, lightning, rain, and hail.
Beautiful waterfall

The Big Tree and as Hope would say, "And it was BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!"

Some families in our church went on a hike through the Ancient Forest and it was BEAUTIFUL!! Who would of thought there is a rainforest 1hour from PG?? Micah absolutely loved it and was running ahead of the pack and we were shocked that Hope actually walked the whole 2.5 km. But it wasn't without some complaining :) We tried to get a family picture but half the time Micah was off somewhere or when we finally had Micah, Hope did not want to be in the picture. It was a really nice afternoon.

Pre-School

Our little Hope has officially started Pre-School and I am so thankful that Curtis had to take her for I would still be crying. She is having lots of fun and was excited to make apple juice yesterday. Hope and Micah both really love their backpacks from Grandpa and Grandma Cornfield!! Hope said having a backpack makes her feel like a big kid.

First Day of Grade 2

Mom: "Are you excited for school to start tomorrow?"
Micah: "Kind of, you go from doing nothing to BANG, getting up early and doing school stuff. It is a lot for a 7 year old to take."

Tubing

Micah went tubing out at the Brookhart's cabin and really liked it. The water was a bit choppy so it was a rough ride. To quote Hope, who enjoyed the comforts of the boat, "Ah, this is the life."

Cultus Lake

Right after Micah and Hope's swimming lessons I took the kids to visit Grandma and Grandpa Cornfield. The kids were awesome for the drive (a wee bit of bribery about taking them to Toys R Us in Kamloops might of helped). We had lots of fun playing mini golf, visiting a military museum, hanging out at the lake, playing in the park (even though it was full of garbage and wasps), going to Micah's favorite place, Chuckee Cheese, and just hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa watching Teletoon Retro.

I finally got Curtis to take me somewhere with him.

Dancing Princess

Dancing Princess
I could watch 12 Dancing Princesses ALL DAY!!

12 Dancing Princesses

Our little Princess has developed an obsession with the Barbie movie "12 Dancing Princesses." She is driving her poor mom crazy with the movie. Throughout the day Curtis and I find ourselves humming the music and the minute we do Hope starts to dance to it. I think it is time to try to wean her from it :)

Kindergarten is coming.

Good thing Hope is not going because she looks bored all ready.
